It's a clean place, including the restrooms, and the service and food are great. They also have a pool table and darts.
Impressed with how they we're able to change and update everything yet still keep the same squirrel cage look and feel. Unfortunately the place is still packed with a bunch of immature kids that I went to HighSchool with. Running around slapping each other in the balls, being extremely immature, Etc. The staff was great, for there being such a large crowd I was impressed that when I ask for something I wasn't treated like a nuisance. Overall three stars for cleanliness, prices and performance of staff. Loss of two stars due to the fact that I felt like I was in a high school locker room...
I ordered the Cage Burger. These people are not messing around with their burgers, btw. My husband got the Snow Cap Burger, which was fabulous, and recommends it. My Cage Burger was really big, and seriously tasty. I'm not saying it had a good piece of bacon, or there was a good sauce on it, but that every single bite was honestly delicious. I don't know what all they put in that thing, but it was a joy to eat. Let me also mention that the fries were perfect and salted and wonderful, and I am in love with them.
I didn't get a chance to check out everything in the Squirrel Cage, but I like what I've seen so far.
Our server was great, and very friendly. We waited a bit for our food, which our server explained would happen because it was busy at the time. We never had to call our server over for drinks, as she was on top of it. Really, she was great.
Food is amazing. But the service is a bit cold. At least at first. The cook was tending bar and I felt like I was bothering her. Nice place clean and big.
They allow smoking when it's slow (midnight on a saturday). Food is okay and the service is slow bordering on nonexistent unless you're a regular/a personal friend of the bartender/ tip an insane amount every time you get the bartenders attention. If you want a good time and better food you can do better. Lots better.
Our group of four had no complaints about food or service, and the beers were cold.
Go get that Cage Burger with fries ;)
Bobby Jo is a great bartender. Friendly atmosphere and the bar looks great. Will definitely return. Had a fun time.
